If you still don’t know what The Walking Dead is about, it began life as a graphic novel where the world has been overrun by a zombie apocalypse and gained fame as a long-running TV series that’s now in its seventh season.
The Walking Dead is appealing to many people, even those who aren’t normally fans of the zombie genre, because it focuses on gritty characters and how they are changed and affected by these events.
Decisions have to be made with no obvious “good” outcome. People slowly lose their humanity and life becomes almost worthless.
The Walking Dead is about a band of survivors who are struggling to stay alive amidst bandits, cannibals, hordes of zombies and various other people, each shaped in their own unique way.
Telltale is known for their particular style of games, bringing great stories to already famous franchises and The Walking Dead: Season Two is no different here.
Containing 5 episodes in this season, the player’s main character is the little girl who was more of a side character in the previous season.
You’ll encounter tough decisions, interesting NPC’s and brain-hungry zombies in a world where your decisions can have bad consequences and the autosave feature means you won’t be able to save/reload whenever you feel like it just to see what else might happen.
It’s not as good as the original Season One, but it’s still a really good story.
It’s like one of those adventure novels turned into a game where the emphasis is more on the story than blasting zombies, although that does occur in this game.
It’s free until May 15, so what are you waiting for!?
Available April 16 - April 30
With its own blockbuster movie and many release titles, Assassin’s Creed is a game that most people know about now.
Revelations is the fourth major installment in the series of Assassin’s Creed and is set in 1511, Constantinople, during the rise of the Ottoman Empire during the Crusades and contains four districts for you to explore.
The next part of the game takes you to the present day with Desmond which is a continuation of Brotherhood and follows his story as he tries to escape the Animus 2.0 where he lies in a comatose state.
The story is fantastic, and there’s plenty of variety as you switch between characters and timelines. The gameplay also feels familiar but with more added as follows:
The hook blade is used to zip line across city skyline which speeds up your travel time significantly, and it can also be used in combat where you grab and pull enemies towards yourself, before hacking them to shreds with a combo.
Revelations also boasts 150 craftable bombs with a wide range of effects from killing enemies, debuffing them and creating distractions. They require certain ingredients to make, and you can get those from bodies, chests, dismantling other bombs, or purchasing.
To spice things up, there’s also some new styles of missions like the 1st Person Platforming missions which follow Desmond’s story as he tries to escape the dreamland he’s in.
You can capture districts as before, but now they’re also under threat from the Templar’s trying to recapture them. The districts you own now require defending via Tower Defence mini games where you control the assassins on rooftops trying to stop the torrent of Templars and their siege equipment from overrunning your defenses.
The Multiplayer mode now offers customizable outfits and appearance and has new modes like Capture the Flag, Deathmatch, and Simple Deathmatch.
Assassin's Creed: Revelations is available on Games with Gold for FREE until April 30th so if you’ve never played this particular title, go grab it!
